JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for inspecting the product to identify quality issues and assisting with product repacking as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
- Conduct daily walk-through of assigned coolers to check the quality of the product and identify any quality issues.
- Check dates of product for proper product rotation by date.
- Remove any distressed product, determine what product needs reworking and what product should be discarded.
- Rework all distressed/damaged products
- Communicate quality issues to buyers, management, and associates.
- Report all lost product or transfers.
- Assure that all inventory is properly blocked and labeled.
- Assist in inventory counts.
- Instructs handlers in the proper method of loading trucks.
- All product loaded must be transported without damage
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Prefer High School or GED
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years related experience (knowledge of produce industry preferred).
Skills
- Ability to operate warehouse power equipment.
- Ability to interact with others in a professional manner.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- General understanding of the shipping procedures of a high volume warehouse operation.
- Solid understanding of produce varieties handled in a wholesale operation.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This role is accountable for and responsible for multiple facets of business operations to ensure overall success, as such this role is a direct report to the Company President and the Company Vice President.
JOB DUTIES:
- Achieve operational goals by contributing information and recommendations to strategic action planning
- Collaborate with management to meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, and strategically scheduling expenditures
- Develop and oversee product handling and storage procedures including; receiving, inventory and product traceability
- Oversee and train staff in proper product traceability and flow through management utilizing software programs
- Develop warehouse design by planning layout, production flow, product handling systems
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment for process improvement
- Analyze process workflow, staffing and space requirements, equipment layout for continuous process improvement
- Coordinate with the Sales Team to forecast demands and draft annual planting and production schedules
- During production season, outline daily goals for production via work orders in line with sales.
- During production season, coordinate w/Maintenance on routine maintenance schedules to minimize equipment down time
- During production season, coordinate with Farm manager on product volume/variety needs based off sales.
- Coordinate with Financial Controller & HR coordinator on labor cost tracking

- Assist Food Safety Compliance Manager in conducting annual PrimusGFS recertification

Agricultural Marketing Specialist (General)
Summary
This position is in the Research and Promotion Division (RPD) of the Agricultural Marketing Service's (AMS) Livestock and Poultry Program (L&P), which carries out the development and federally mandated oversight of research and promotion (R&P) programs, commonly known as checkoff programs, created to maintain and expand markets for agricultural commodities.
Duties
- The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
- The duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Attends board meetings for assigned programs; and often times these meetings cover controversial and precedent-setting issues.
- Reviews board marketing communications and research and education studies/projects submitted for the Secretary?s approval to ensure compliance.
- Prepares notice and comment rulemaking for proposed commodity promotion programs and amendments to current programs.
- Monitors board enforcement activities to ensure that they are effective and impartial and the proprietary information is not disclosed to board members.
- Prepares responses to congressional and other high-level correspondence pertaining to assigned programs, which may involve controversial and complex topics.
- Provides expert technical guidance to lower grade level employees in the Division assigned to assist in the specific area of responsibility.

Summary
You will perform various seed testing activities which establish identity, quality, and other measures that determine whether submitted samples are in compliance with regulations. You will also assist in performing seed purity and germination tests in the laboratory.
Duties
- The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity. The duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Conducts trueness to variety trials to determine possible labeling violations.
- Conducts seed testing, including physical purity, noxious weed seed examinations, seed identification, and germination tests.
- Conducts bioassay tests to determine the presence or absence of bioengineered traits such as Roundup Ready.
- Evaluates requests for seed pathology and agronomy service testing.
- Assists the Plant Physiologist in conducting protein electrophoresis testing.
- Implements a program to transfer information from basic research into new or improved laboratory testing procedures.
- Standardizes newly developed testing procedures by conducting controlled tests to eliminate possible sources of variation in test results.

- The work is mostly sedentary; however, there is some walking, standing bending, carrying of light items such as books, packages of seed, and laboratory equipment.
- Lifting of heavier items, such as containers of samples, boxes of germination paper, bags of sand and soil is occasionally required.
- During planting times, the incumbent will be required to work in the field, often under hot and humid conditions, to ensure that samples are planted in a timely manner.
- Field work requires frequent bending or kneeling to plant seed by hand. Field work is performed outside, often during the hot spring and summer months.
- The work may result in exposure to pesticide-treated seeds, dust, fungal spores, hazardous chemicals, and noise from exhaust hoods, vacuum lines, germination and other equipment requiring you adhere to special safety precautions such as wearing PPE.

BASIC REQUIREMENT

Combination of education and experience: at least 30 semester hours in the basic plant sciences, including a minimum of 15 semester hours in agronomic subjects, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Graduate Education: Agronomy, or one of the related disciplines or fields of science, such as plant physiology, soils, or genetics, where the curriculum or pattern of training placed major emphasis on field crops or agronomy. Graduate study in related fields, such as botany, plant pathology, and biochemistry may also be qualifying, provided it placed a sufficient amount of emphasis on agronomy.
Evaluation of Education: Course work in such subjects as botany, plant taxonomy, plant physiology, plant breeding or genetics, plant ecology, plant pathology, microbiology, agronomy, or those dealing with basic soil-water-plant relationships of an agronomic or ecologic nature may be used to meet the 30-semester-hour requirement in the basic plant sciences. Agronomy courses include agronomy, field crops, field crop production or management, soil and crop management, plant breeding and development, weed control, and similar courses, including those in soils, biochemistry, plant physiology, etc., provided they dealt with principles, methods, or procedures that are applied directly in agronomic work and in the solving of agronomic problemsIN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS LISTED ABOVE:

Agricultural Commodity Grader
Summary
The incumbent serves as a senior grader for the Specialty Crops Inspection(SCI) Division at an inspection point, processing facility or area office lab, which may involve coordinating the work of other inspection personnel. The selected applicant may perform audit verifications on the production and processes at warehouses, railroad sidings, packing plants, ports of entry, primary production operations, farms and similar facilities.
Duties
- The duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Selects samples from product lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in accordance with prescribed sampling and plans.
- Inspects products to determine the quality, condition, and/or compliance with U.S. Grade Standards or stated contract specifications.
- Prepares inspection reports based on examination of product.
- Draws and examines samples of the finished products of processed fruits and vegetables and determines grade, condition and wholesomeness.
- Makes observations to determine if plant facilities, operating methods, processing equipment and personnel are in compliance with sanitation requirements and regulations.
- Coordinates activities, schedules and work assignments for other inspection personnel assigned to the plant.
- Inspects raw product material to establish the suitability for processing.

- Inspects or evaluates complicated processing equipment and procedures, and conditions of storage or transportation, such as is typical of most processed products production, and advises industry employees on product quality control procedures.

Education: Must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree in Agriculture, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Business, Science or related field; or two full years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
Combination: You must have a combination of work experience and education as described above which when combined equals to 100% of the requirement. First determine your qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level listed above; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level listed above; and then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of one year (i.e., 18 semester hours) may be combined with experience under this standard.

The Sustainability Manager implements, manages, and champions Dayka & Hackett’s sustainability strategy. They own ambitious targets related to renewable energy, corporate GHG footprint (scopes 1, 2 & 3), packaging, waste, community engagement, and supply chain sustainability. Job Duties:
Strategy Implementation & Program Management

- Serve as internal champion of B Corporation certification and project manager for US operations, partnering across departments to achieve B Certification by 2024

JOB SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Technician role is essential for supporting the operations team and is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing preventive maintenance on production equipment throughout the facility with limited supervision. Participate in 5S and Lean manufacturing activities including material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports company and industry standard safety policies and procedures - OSHA, NEC, NFPA, USDA, FDA, etc.
- Perform inspections and complete preventive/predictive maintenance tasks on production and process utility equipment to increase quality, safety, and overall equipment reliability.
- Diagnose and repair production and process utility equipment deficiencies and failures; to include, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. May include facility repairs as needed.
- Learn and use continuous improvements tools and methods to improve equipment reliability, may include root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode analysis (FMA) and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Work and train with OEM technicians during production equipment rebuilds, line moves, installations, setups, calibrations, and emergency repairs
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Responsible for effectively managing assigned planned work, unplanned failures, and work orders in a high-paced, fluid work environment.
- Responsible for accurately and concisely logging work orders in computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to properly track maintenance and equipment performance metrics; to include labor, equipment uptime, preventive maintenance compliance, MTTR, MTBF, part usage, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
- Required
- Three (3) plus years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, electrical components, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, material handling equipment, etc.
- Preferred
- Experience using lockout tagout, job hazard analysis, hot work permits, confined space, etc. 1-3 years of food processing maintenance experience is a preferred.
- Experience working in a food processing environment and familiar with USDA, FDA, and SQF policies and procedures.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Required - Must provide own tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco) necessary to perform all maintenance repair and diagnostics.

This role requires a solution-based selling and relationship-oriented sales executive managing the end-to-end sales process for our Buyer programs.
This role requires a deep understanding of bulk purchasing and programmatic sales of fresh produce. You will have direct engagement with fresh produce buyers, including retailers, distributors, wholesalers, brokers, CPG companies, online direct-to-consumer brands, and food service providers. Applicants should have a deep understanding of sourcing, category management, supply management, and fresh produce sales cycles.
