C.H. Robinson is looking to add an Associate Global Trade Specialist to our team within the Robinson Fresh division. This role is pivotal in the global movement of fresh perishable cargo throughout the supply chain. As an Associate Global Trade Specialist, you will play multiple roles, from acting as the cargo owner (BCO) and negotiating directly with steamship lines to supporting logistics activities for grower/shipper owned cargo. Your primary responsibility is to review rated ocean freight bills for accuracy and oversee the global carrier payments process. By excelling in this role, you will directly influence Robinson Fresh’s position as a global fresh produce shipper.

This exciting opportunity offers a hybrid work model, blending the convenience of remote work with the collaborative environment in any of our Robinson Fresh offices. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while also having the opportunity to collaborate and engage with our dynamic team in person.

Responsibilities:

Foster relationships with global ocean carriers and freight forwarders specializing in refrigerated cargo, including periodic business reviews and issue resolution with data analysis
Maintain effective communication with carriers to receive timely freight bills and resolve any outstanding payments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support logistics operations, analytics, finance, and procurement
Drive continual improvement in ocean freight payment processes, suggesting enhancements and updating process documentation
Research and stay up to date on carrier market expertise, trade lanes, logistics lanes, transit times, and rates
Coordinate initial notifications of marine cargo insurance claims
Execute logistic payable processes, manage statements of account, handle carrier charge disputes, and apply marine cargo insurance premiums for global business transactions
Contribute to the development of processes and documentation for international shipments of perishable products
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, supply agreement terms, internal procedures, and government regulations, aligned with C.H. Robinson company standards
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to travel up to 5% (domestically and internationally)
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, Associates degree, or trade-related certifications
Entrepreneurial and creative mindset with a strong determination to succeed
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette
Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management abilities
Exceptional customer service skills with meticulous follow-up
Proficiency in navigating multiple systems
Valuing a diverse and inclusive work environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Attention to detail with high standards for work and a customer service mindset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
