Job Summary:
The position is responsible for supply planning activities, which includes creating a supply plan, scheduling deliveries, aligning supply and demand and implementing the plan.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
• Adheres to purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
• Carries inventory control policies and procedures.
• Uses knowledge of material work planning and methods engineering processes and procedures to coordinate product deliveries.
• Uses knowledge of machines and equipment to schedule items necessary to continual production cycles.
• Copies data and compiles records and reports.
• Purchases supplies (direct and indirect materials and services).
• Performs data entry of all purchase orders.
• Sends all new purchase orders to vendors.
• Assists other departments when required.
• Plan materials in coordination with suppliers and considering internal requirements and demand plans.
• Reviews requisitions.
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
• Manages the day to day interaction with suppliers, including
• Communicating with vendors to find out status of orders and to resolve daily supply issues.
• Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality.
• Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues as necessary.
• Helps develop the company’s inventory tracking system
• Any other duties as assigned.
Skills:
• Experience and proficient in using databases, web-based portals, and able to learn planning and procurement software quickly.

• Must be detail-oriented
• Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing data, problem identification and resolution and ability to generate clear/concise reports indicating key issues to management/ department heads
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Aptitude in problem solving
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of Lean Principles/Concepts
• Kanban experience a plus
• Flexible, with strong teamwork orientation
• Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement
• Demonstrated ability to effectively implement change
• FFT ERP (Measure) knowledge preferred, but not required.
Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain or business administration
• Minimum 2 years’ prior experience in purchasing related experience or demonstrated knowledge skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. Employee is exposed to extreme cold temperatures and moderate noise levels on a regular basis. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
