On June 3rd, TIPA will host a webinar to present the Papaya Food Safety – Verifications & Grower/Importer Checklist that has been developed to supplement the existing guide, the “Best Practices for the Growing and Handling of Mexican Papaya.”
Last year, United Fresh Produce Association in collaboration with TIPA and fresh produce industry professionals debuted the “Best Practices for the Growing and Handling of Mexican Papaya” guide, which was followed by a series of training workshops with targeted outreach to the entire Mexican papaya industry. Continuing in these efforts, the papaya safety checklist has been developed to serve as a self-assessment and 3rd party audit addendum accompanying holistic GAP programs such as the Produce GAPs Harmonized Standard.
In this webinar, Dante Galeazzi of TIPA and Emily Griep from United Fresh will review the new papaya safety checklist and Sergio Nieto-Montenegro of Food Safety CTS will provide updates on the status of industry training efforts, followed by a Q&A panel of papaya industry members.
