Rio Fresh Inc in San Juan TX hosted the first fresh produce workplace vaccination clinic. Along with their employees, family members of employees, and the employees of 6 other nearby companies, that clinic was able to administer vaccines to more than 510 agricultural workers in 1 day! A tremendous feat by any measure and a big THANK YOU to Rio Fresh for being the first to make such an endeavor possible. Attached are several pictures from that event.
We are happy to report that following that successful pilot, the US Wage & Hour Division (WHD) and Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) are ready to expand the program throughout the state!
For South Texas, WHD will be organizing events throughout the region and will need to combine the headcount of several companies to facilitate these clinics. For those companies located in the RGV and interested in participating in a clinic, please contact Mr. Cori Carrizales w/ McAllen’s WHD.

For those companies located outside of the RGV, please look here and find your local DSHS contact.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our offices. Also, we have heard reports of other groups offering clinics. TIPA strongly recommends you direct any interests for vaccination clinics at the worksite to either WHD or DSHS.
